DEEP ROOTS, NEW LIFE

They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

JEREMIAH 17:8 (NLT)

OUR PURPOSE:
To purchase a permanent place to become a generational, durable, and fruitful church.

Generational

Recognizing God’s intention to leave a legacy of faith in Jesus for future generations, we want to create a safe, nurturing, permanent place for our children and their children to worship, fellowship, and unify under the loving and confident authority of the ascended King Jesus. We will raise funds to establish deep roots in one location from generation to generation.

Durable

We purpose to become a more durable church, able to steadily navigate life’s ebbs and flows as a faithful, non-anxious presence. By establishing ourselves in a permanent location, we can engage in steady, grounded ministry over a long period, free from the uncertainty associated with temporary spaces.

Fruitful

We are confident that stepping out in faith through sacrificial generosity will enable us to remain a church offering Gospel-centered answers to life’s most significant questions. In so doing, we will invite people who have never known Jesus, consider themselves spiritual but not religious, or are longing for a safe, restful, and loving church family to consider to Jesus’ gracious call to follow him.

OUR NEED:
To raise $950,000 for the purchase and renovation of a permanent place.

God has been leading us on a journey of settling in a permanent place for several years. Now is the time to take the next step of faith and purchase our permanent place to worship, fellowship, and share the Good News of God’s great love.

While we do not yet know the specific place God has in mind for us, we do know some things:

  • God has a permanent place for us. He will be silly-good to Church of the Apostles as he has always been.

  • Although we are not yet certain that our current gathering spot in Trumbull will be our permanent place, we hope it can be. We have a three-year lease, giving us time to collect financial commitments to Deep Roots, New Life, and we have the right of first offer if and when the building is for sale.

  • We aim to buy a permanent place where our church can thrive. We will use the space for worship, children and youth ministry, Christian education, Come & See events, and clergy and staff offices.

  • The Anglican Way of gathered worship is best practiced in transcendent spaces. We pray for an existing church already zoned and used for worship and ministry. We will also consider commercial buildings that can be purchased and renovated into beautiful spaces.

  • A permanent place will help us learn the needs of our new parish and imagine new ways of reaching out with Jesus’ love.

  • A permanent place will assure kindred spirits looking for a church home that we are a generational, durable, and fruitful church, making it more likely that they will join us in mission and ministry.

  • A permanent place helps us embody our mission of being a neighborhood church accessible to the region.

God is calling Church of the Apostles to step out in faith. Now is the time to raise capital for Deep Roots, New Life. Since neither one nor a few people could meet our needs alone, God is good to give us brothers and sisters to accompany us in his plans. We must all work together in his strength to become a generational, durable, and fruitful church.

COLLECT FOR DEEP ROOTS, NEW LIFE

Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, giver of every good and perfect gift, lead Church of the Apostles to a permanent place. Meet us as we worship you in Word and Sacrament, grow closer as the family of God, and give to your work. Make us a generational, durable, and fruitful church for the glory of your name. Increase our trust in you as we step out in faith, knowing that you will meet us. Move us in sacrificial generosity as we ask, “God, how are you asking me to give?” Amen.
