Apostles loves Youth! With the very full lives of teens today, we work hard to provide flexible, creative, and consistent biblical discipleship to every middle and high school student that we meet, whatever their relationship with GOD.
OUR MISSION
As our Youth navigate the joys and complexities of life, we believe that it is by encountering Christ and in finding their place in the local community of faith that our youth will flourish as they live:
CONNECTED TO GOD – by fostering a spirit of worship and prayer, equipping our youth with spiritual practices that will help to nourish their faith throughout their lives.
CONNECTED TO THE CHURCH – by involving our youth in the ministries of service and mission within the life of the congregation, nurturing the Spirit-empowered calling that will help to guide their sense of purpose throughout their lives.
CONNECTED TO GOOD FRIENDS – by nurturing healthy peer friendships and connecting our youth to mentors that represent a diverse spectrum of the body of Christ, we seek to support our youth with strong, intergenerational relationships that will help to sustain their sense of belonging throughout their lives.
WHAT WE DO
· Catechism classes – meeting together twice a month during the Sunday morning service to nurture our youth – through practice and teaching – in the life-giving, essential theological doctrines of the Christian faith.
· Youth Group – gathering in a safe space and in a spirit of fun, encouraging our youth to enjoy themselves and to deepen our shared friendships.
· Mentoring relationships – connecting each of our youth to a variety of carefully screened mentors in the church who will respectfully and lovingly be available to journey with them, helping our youth to integrate their faith into the reality of their daily lives.
· Devotional support – providing regular devotional materials that give our youth the opportunity to prayerfully study the Scriptures at home and to include these discussions in the curriculum of our Catechism classes.
· Ministry participation – Encouraging our youth to participate in our regular church services and to provide suitable opportunities for them to explore their gifting in the various ministries of the church.
· Special events - Sharing ‘life-together’ in retreats, missions, and other meaningful special events.
· Family support – Engaging with the parents/guardians, valuing their input in the shaping of our youth ministry and providing support that helps our parents to grow with their growing teens.
