Safeguarding at Apostles

Church of the Apostles is committed to the safety, accountability, and the well-being of all members of our community. This page provides a way to report misconduct involving clergy or church leaders through a trauma-informed, legally compliant process, allowing them to be addressed responsibly and with care.

Reporting child or youth abuse

If you have witnessed or suspect the abuse of a child or young person, immediately report it to local authorities.

After reporting the abuse to local authorities, please complete the misconduct complaint form linked below, so that we are aware of the incident and can provide care to all parties involved.

Reporting misconduct

This reporting process applies to misconduct by clergy and anyone in church leadership, including Parish Council members, staff, small-group leaders, ministry coordinators, and anyone serving in an ad hoc leadership role under the oversight of Church of the Apostles.

Reports are received by our Report Receivers team, a group of clergy and lay members appointed to ensure concerns are reviewed thoughtfully and compassionately.

After a report is submitted, the team will follow up promptly (usually within 24–48 hours) and take appropriate action in line with our policies and those of the Diocese of Christ Our Hope, with which we are affiliated. We will offer support or resources to anyone affected.

All reports are treated confidentially whenever possible, but confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, particularly if parish policy, diocesan policy, or law requires disclosure. There will be no retaliation for raising a concern in good faith.
