For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Matthew 25:35
On the second Saturday of each month, Church of the Apostles partners with Nichols United Methodist Church and Stratford United Methodist Church to host a free Neighborhood Breakfast at Stratford United Methodist Church. This ministry provides a warm meal, welcoming hospitality, and an opportunity for fellowship with our neighbors throughout the Stratford community.
The breakfast is served from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., but making it happen requires a team of volunteers who are willing to serve from 7:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers help with a variety of tasks, including:
Cooking and food preparation
Making coffee and beverages
Setting up tables and the buffet
Serving food and welcoming guests
Cleaning up and putting the facility back in order
In addition to volunteers, we depend on donations of food and supplies. Congregation members are invited to sign up to provide breakfast items and drop them off at Stratford UMC on the morning of the event.
Our goal is simple: to extend the hospitality of Christ by creating a place where neighbors can enjoy a good meal, build relationships, and experience the care of a loving Christian community.
How You Can Help
We need a team from Church of the Apostles each month to help host this ministry. Whether you enjoy cooking, serving, greeting guests, setting up, or cleaning up, there is a place for you to serve.
We also welcome donations of food and supplies to support the breakfast.
